IPTC in iOS app

Which device are you using?

iPhone

What problem do you see this solving?

Adding the possibility to edit the same IPTC fields in the iOS (and the iPadOS) apps will help photoreporter on the field. We now have to bring a computer to edit the IPTC, but we could do it with the iOS app quite easily and with lesshardware. With modern cameras we can transfer JPG to our smartphone, then we could edit the IPTC on Capture One mobile, then export the files to our FTP server or other. This could be a huge gain of time on the field ! But the Capture One mobile has to propose to modify the same IPTC fields than the computer version, maybe in the metadata field of the app ?

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

Everytime I am on the field and I have to send my pictures as quickly as possible.

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals?

As far as I know, there are no other solutions for me (a Nikon user). Maybe Canon and Sony users have a tool by Canon or Sony, but Nikon does not provide us with it.

Hello Evi and thanks for your reply ! I use 8 fields in "IPTC - Contact" (creator, address, city, zip code, country, phone, email, website), 3 in "IPTC - Content" (header, description, IPTC subject code), 4 in "IPTC - Image" (city, state, country, country ISO code), 3 in "IPTC - Status" (title, task identification, copyright notice), so there are 18 in total (I translated in English the fields name, maybe I made mistakes).

The fields from "IPTC - Contact", "IPTC - Image" and "IPTC - Status" are shared by all images from the same reportage, between 5 to 30 in my case. Every picture has its own header and description (in "IPTC - Content").

To be complete, pictures also share keywords (I don't remember if there are available in Capture One mobile) and I export them using a name preset "image name - header". It could be a nice feature, but maybe difficult to implement.

Hello 389525780077! Thanks for the suggestion, we will evaluate and see how soon we can bring it into mobile. How many fields do you usually edit per job and how many photos share the same info?
