False color

Which device are you using?

I am using iPhone 14 Pro, the 12.9 inch iPad Pro, and the iPad mini 6.

What problem do you see this solving?

When I use Capture One Pro on my laptop, I can hover my cursor over an area of the image, and the RGBL values will be displayed at the top of the screen. The mobile app for iPad and iPhone does not allow this. I also have Atomos recorders and monitors. They allow me to use false color to judge the brightness of various parts of the image. I would like this option for capture one mobile. You do not have to follow IRE standards. I propose 10 colors, each to cover 25.5 brightness levels on the 0 to 255 scale. I would like for the user to be able to set the various colors, and which brightness they represent.

I would like this to be a separate option from shadow and highlight alerts. I would like to be able to toggle this viewing mode on and off. I want to use it during tethered capture, and image editing. It would be like a gradient map, but in Capture One.

This feature will allow the user to better judge exposure of various image areas regardless of iPhone or iPad brightness settings.

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

I have always wanted this. That is why I purchased the Atomos Ninja V+ and other Atomos devices. Tethering to the iPhone is a lot less awkward and cumbersome than using the HDMI recording devices. I wish Fujifilm would implement this on their cameras for still images and video.

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals?

As I described above, I use Atomos Ninja V+, Atomos Ninja V, and Atomos Shinobi SDI. To keep the weight down I also use a Hollyland wireless HDMI transmitter to send the video feed of the camera display to the Atomos device that is mounted on a tripod. When I tether Capture One to iPhones, I just use the 20 inch tether tools cable to the iPhone that I have mounted on a wrist strap on my right forearm, the same arm that holds the camera.

It would be great if both this feature and highlight / shadow alerts could be turned on and off using gestures.

Hey 368767649518, we might get back to you on this since we have to investigate it further. Could you share a few words about your workflow and why you use the Atomos  or the iPhone while on the go? What type of photography are you into?
