Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
Which device are you using?
Ipad
What problem do you see this solving?
Sending wireless RAW files = slow. Send only JPG's would be great to have a bigger view & rate them. Also use the same file name as the original files on the sd.cfexpress card.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
If your feedback is more general, simply let us know how much your workflow is affected.
Current workaround
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals? Now I use Camranger. It's working great but, you need an external item and that makes the camera/setup heavier. |
Yeah, no option to send jpg only and save the RAW to the card is a deal breaker for me. Thankful for the free 7-day trial so I can un-sub without wasting money.
Ok, cool. Thanks a lot for the insight.. I will check with the community team if we could add a blogpost or something about it.
Not much to add, as I mostly use wired tethering due to speed, I only wanted to put a reminder about that difference between camera brands, that could be used as a workaround for the problem raised in this thread - and it seems that some Sony owners are not aware of in-camera settings, which might be especially true for those having Sony as second or backup camera only.
Thanks for chipping in 11057524292637! Care to share a few words about your setup and workflow with me and the mobile community?
Quick scroll and I see no Sony users here, as they happily use the requested process simply by setting their camera up as desired...
(In case you have multiple cameras and one of them is Sony, consider primarily using Sony when tethering wirelessly.)

I just downloaded the app and REALLY missing Jpeg Only to Capture One Mobile and save RAW on card. I have a shoot on a small boat and taking the laptop there it's a bit risky.. No digital for this one and I need something for the client. I guess I'll use cable tether for now but would be amazing to get rid of the cable on some scenarios.
Hope this feature comes very soon.
Thanks!
Thanks 5532934573725! Could you share a few words about your current workflow? what is the alternative you use today?

I think what everyone is asking for:
Send JPG only through wireless capture.
Saving RAW files to the memory card and import them later when you are home.
It can be the same like the normal wireless tether tool, function in the same way, just add the option to just send jpgs to the Mac.
Thanks 14921050713373 and adding my colleagues 1901072955773 and 370116698098. Could you please describe how do you imagine your workflow if this functionality was available?
Same for me - Also the desktop app too not just ipad. We have a really big studio so running a cable can be a tripping hazard and wireless is really slow.
Thanks for chipping in 6908851851421! Noted :)
To put my name in the hat. I would also love this feature. I tether as normal in studio transferring raws but thethering to an iPad that is not heavy and so easy to pull to the ground on location is not really workable. Also handing a client a tethered iPad is not really practical because they'll set up a trip wire in seconds!
So jpg to iPad - Raws to sd card would be an amazing feature. :)

Hi Evi,
Thanks for your reply.
I find the iPad a really simple flexible solution for smaller shoots allowing freedom of movement without being tethered. I would never process on the iPad and would only ever use it as a tool to view images as they are taken.
Agree with everyone else here, and would be happy if it worked wired and/or wireless. The ability to send just JPGs to the iPad while saving the RAWs to card. Clearly a feature a lot of people would love to see added.
We would also like the option to only send jpegs to the iPad and just leave the raw files on the camera card. We use the iPad tethered wirelessly to the camera so our Art Directors can view the pictures as we shoot. The RAW files take waaaay too long to transfer wirelessly. We are shooting out in the field (not in a studio) and a wired connection in that environment is not practical.
Hello 13729936914333, apologies for the late reply. Currently when you export on the app you use the iOS share menu. If your FTP server is there, you could send it. I suggest you give it a go and let us know what works or doesn't work for you. Feel free to send me an email at eke@captureone.com and I will help you out if needed.
Thanks 383905327598. I don't think we will have it in the next couple of months but we know how important this is especially for wireless so hopefully we will update you on when we can have it soon. Can you give us an example on why you would tether wirelessly to your iPad and not via wire?
Has there been any update in this? I am also brand new to Capture One on iPad and would love to be able to send only jpg to iPad while Raw goes to card. We shoot mostly to MacBook Pro with Capture One but some shoots the iPad is more practical to view on rather than show client the back of camera. The Canon app we use works well but the resolution is not great while my test with jpg on C One Ipad just now is brilliant. Raw is just unusable as is so slow.
I like the iPad-App but not being able to transmit JPG only and save RAW to card is a reason to not use it and cancel the subscription.
My current workaround is:
Downside: I have to use Windows.
So please add the possibility to tether JPG only and save RAW to card on both MacOS and iPad.
