Provide a remark (REM:) field to variants so that we can add useful information about the edits performed on that variant.

Hi Guys!

I have talked with some of the world-class engineering minds behind C1 and know that this is not easy but doable.

I create LOTS of variants for several images trying to decide which edit I like best for various uses, e.g. different printing parameters, print vs. screen use, to match a publisher's requirements for editorial uses, or client's preferences. I heard an interview with Tom Petty talking about Bob Dylan one time. He explained that he learned from Bob that if you have a song with 3 verses don't stop writing at 3. Write six. Or nine. Or 15. You don't know when the magic is going to strike, but if you don't give it an opportunity it never will. That's kind of how I work.

Different printing profiles don't cover this. Now I have to go into each variant to see what is going on with the image.

Back in the day, I wrote code for various uses and in some languages, we would insert remarks for future use that were only informational and in the lines of code by inserting the "REM" command. This is the sort of usage I envision.

For me, the best possible alternative would be if I could click on the variant number in the thumbnail and have a box pop up where I could select from a list of maybe 10 descriptive uses that would tell me what is going on quickly. These would be user-defined fields.

Current workaround

Spend endless hours sorting through variants cussing and fuming. This is not as fun as it may sound. :)
