Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
Right now, the Before/After viewer includes ALL changes that I've made to a photo. But often, I'd like to see only SOME changes. It doesn't do much good to compare with the BEFORE state of a RAW file because of course it looks terrible; it's RAW.
What I want to do is apply my initial exposure tweaks, then set a new "BEFORE" point that the Before/After viewer can reference. Essentially, "bookmark" that point in my editing history and then tell the Before/After viewer to reference that point as the "BEFORE".
Ideally, I'd like to be able to bookmark multiple points in my editing history and then right-click the "Before/After" button in the toolbar and select which of those points should be used for the "BEFORE" image.
Current workaround
You have to toggle a bunch of layers on/off. Skin adjustments, eye/pupil adjustments, etc. I don't want to compare my current state to the 100% pure RAW photo that came from the camera. I want to compare it to the state my photo was in after I applied initial exposure adjustments, but before I started all the finer tweaking (like skin tones, etc.) |
For this to work they would have to finally implement a history panel (like Lr has since ages...)
But in the meantime: Another workaround would be to create a variant with the desired layers and adjustments so you don't use the before/after feature but instead compare these (two) variants.
