Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
What problem do you see this solving
I would suggest the function of "copy/apply layers" be updated. In my workflow, "copy layer" is not efficient when working with multiple images. The current rule is to add new layers on top of existing ones instead of replacing adjustments, even when the layer name is the same. This significantly slows down my workflow as I would like to make adjustments to a layer and immediately apply it to the other images. Instead, to see the applied effect, I need to delete all the old layers that have the same name.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
This affects my workflow. I have not yet thought of a good workaround. To achieve a time-efficient workflow, I will need to nail the layer adjustment that applies to multiple images in fewer tries.
Current workaround
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One? One possible workaround is to first reset all target images, and then copy and apply the layers. However, if only a specific layer is considered being copied, this workaround would erase/reset other layers. I would like to suggest a possible solution in future updates. 1. Forbid repeating layer names: Each layer should have different layer names for distinction. 2. When applying copy/apply layers, "overwrite" layer adjustments if the target image contains a layer with the same layer name. Or else, add the layer on top of all layers. 3. If users request to add layers on top rather than overwriting the adjustments. Add options to choose between "overwrite layers with the same name" and "add layers on top". For adding layers on top, add a suffix number at the end, to separate it from old layers. |
