Sort aspect ration by decreasing squareness (or else)

Aspect ratio are :

square, 1/2, 1/3, 2/3, 3/4, 4/5, 5/7, 16/9

It's a nice looking and (kind of) arithmetic progression, and everybody sees what a square is, and has a pretty nice idea what 16/9 is.

So one can think that ratio between "square" and "16/9" are ordered by decreasing "squareness".

Which is not :

1, 0.5, 0.3, 0.6, 0.75, 0.8, 0.7, 1.7

Or, if I put wide side (bigger number first), is

1/1, 2/1, 3/1, 3/2, 4/3, 5/4, 7/5, 16/9

1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 1.5, 1.3, 1.25, 1.4, 1.7

Which indeed is no use, as the ratio between "square" and "16/9" are not ordered by decreasing squareness.

Please order the ratio by decreasing (or increasing) squareness, which is much more intuitive than a good looking ratio order, although it's not a good looking list of ratio.

Or please provide an option to order them this way.

Decreasing squareness would be :

square, 5/4, 4/3, 7/5, 3/2, 16/9, 2/1, 3/1
