Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
It would be time-saving to add the “Before”/”Raw”/”no simulation” option among the Film Simulation options menu, to start editing raw files from scratch. This would be particularly useful in beauty photography, when preparing images shot raw for further Photoshop editing.
Current workaround
I’m currently changing WB, Exposure, HDR, and Color Editor menu’s options trying to match as much as possible the “Before” preview on an image, and copy-pasting my adjustments on the other pictures, but this doesn't work, and I suppose that’s because it affects the Raw file, but Capture One is still showing me the rendered file as shot, which is applying the Film Simulation I used when I shot the picture. |
There is no "before" really, some profile/curve has to be applied. If you want the rawest data, just use the linear curve in the dropdown. This is pretty much the data right off the sensor, but it requires more work to polish. It's up to Fuji to provise users with a truly standard/neutral realistic profile instead of various aesthetic film sims. Provia is pretty close to neutral, but I think it still is more stylized than true neutral.
