it would be helpful to be able to create a mask that is based on the luminosity of the picture at hand, i.e. a mask like a monochrome version of the picture you are working on. It would give the possibility to apply a tweak to the image whose strength is based on the luminosity or inverted luminosity of the complete image

Hi Hans, this is already possible in Capture One today - create a new filled layer and apply a luminosity mask to it.
