Guides In Capture One

Hi, this is a 2 part request. I am a freelancer that uses Capture One Pro regulary for my work. Overall it is a great product.

Part 1
The guide tool needs to be the same in Capture One Pro as it is for Studio. It is not fair that a basic tool to set % of guides is locked out from freelancers that can't afford to pay 2.5 more than what we are already paying for something that is in my opinion a basic tool and available with any other software. I understand the value of Studio is in its collaboration features, hense why the price is what it is. Setting guides to maintain consistency across shoots should not fall under this though. Are there any plans to incorporate the Studio guide tool into Pro?

Part 2
An idea for improving the guide tool. I can see online that it is possible to change the colour of an individual guide in the Studio version. That is great. An idea to improve is if guides could be grouped to toggle on and off. An example is that if you are shooting position 1 that has a set of guides, you could toggle them off and toggle on position 2 guides. This would greatly improve efficiency on set. If they can be saved into a template would be even better.

Current workaround

Currently, the only way to set guides from shoot to shoot is to load in a reference image into the overlay tool with set guides and notes for them. Then create a guide and drag it to the overlay reference. It is a slow process across multiple reference images over a full day of shooting. It also has a risk of being slightly off when setting the guides.

    Hi Adrian,

For now we have no plans about incorporating the advanced functions of the guide tool in the Pro version.

Regarding your second point: while it is not possible to change the guides color individually (all visible guides are affected by the color choice) it is possible to save guides presets in the Studio version.

This will most likely be turned down as "Not a feature request" – like a similar request of mine: https://captureone.ideas.aha.io/ideas/FR-I-1903

It really makes no sense that you have to pay that much more simply to get this very basic tool.
