Actually it's impossible to find photos that are not inside any collection. If a catalog is made up of thousands of shots, this may be a big issue and you can end with many "hidden" photos.

Current workaround
Currently I set every imported image with one star. When removing an image from a collection I need to remove the star before removing it. This way I can create a smart collection checking for unstarred elements, but this is not reliable as I could forget to remove this check. An automatic search for "orphans" should really be implemented. |
This one is really missing in capture one.
Also, somewhat related: please add to the context menu a list of all collections the selected photo is a member of.
Just like Lightrooms equivalent "Go to Collection > Collections: Coll1 / Coll2 / Coll3 ..."
