Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
There are several date naming tokens. Could we please have the ability to have more variety in how they are laid out. Currently there is a 'Current Date (MMM dd yyyy)' could we please have (YYYYMMDD). this way I know where to look in my catalog for certain photos.
Current workaround
I don't see a workaround to this - other than using different software ... |
I never really understood why Capture One would include the american style of dates (MMM dd yyy = "June 07 2025") which nobody ever would use in a filename -including american speaking photographers- but NOT include the useful "yyyyMMdd" (= 20250607) as a preset.
Which you can quickly combine with the time "HHmmss" to get "20250607-135959" which is very useful for unique but quite short filenames.
Every once in a while when I reinstall Capture One or reset the presets I have to cobble this together to save it as my own preset.
Don't get me wrong: Capture One's token system is great! But this could also be greatly improved.
Hi West, this should already be possible, either by selecting a different format in the date token by clicking the small arrow on the right,

or by selecting the other tokens for current day, current month and current year (different formatting options are possible)
and arranging them as such
Can't you just combine Current Year, Current Month and Current Day to make YYYYMMDD?
