Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
Currently Match Look is a great feature that is, in my opinion, an upgrade from presets. Creating a layer that applies adjustments to an image that you can see and even modify the adjustments made based off reference images is a time saver. However, I think it could be much more granular. For example, it ignores the curves tool. Incorporating this tool would make Match Look go from estimating a best guess to nailing a look you are trying to achieve. It would more accurately create contrast in the right areas of the image instead of the contrast slider which has little to no control over that aspect.

Current workaround
Currently the way I use the tool for my reportage and related projects is I will go through 5 - 10 images that capture the overall variance of lighting and color temp of the session and manually adjust them, then use those as a reference to ripple through the rest of the session but ignoring contrast. Then I make a layer only to work on the curves and copy that adjustment over again, tweaking when needed. It's still more efficient than without the tool, however it would be great if the tool analysed the pattern of where your shadows and highlights begin, how steep they curve, etc. of the references and match this aspect. |
Hi, thanks for your suggestion.
I wanted to let you know that Match Look does indeed work with the curve tool, and that you can enable or disable this if you want (it's enabled by default).
For example, in the "Color Tone" section you will find "Color Channel Curves", which refers to the individual R,G and B curves. And in the "Light & Contrast" section you will find the Luma curve.
