Addition of applescript support for "Select Next" and "Select Previous". This would be really amazing as it would enable a system-wide keyboard shortcut to enable someone to edit and scroll through images in Capture One in the background while other applications are active, enabling work during client review and tagging of images, freeing up valuable computer control time for digital techs. This, and/or enabling a non-read-only state for primary variant would also enable a viable workaround.

Current workaround
Workaround 1) Script using system events to select the menu option (however this requires activating Capture One briefly, making it not truly a background function which could interfere with other computer tasks). Workaround 2) Loop while incrementing the variant id and try to select a new variant until success is found (in case missing or deleted variants), and deselect the previously selected variant. This results in a screen glitch as the select/deselect function briefly flashes either multiple variants or no variants, and additionally will not work with multiple variants selected as the primary variant can only be changed by eliminating all other selected variants and selecting a new variant. |

On the topic of enabling work during client review and tagging of images, I imagine you are already aware, but we have created Capture One Live and Capture One Live for Studio exactly for this purpose. Clients Viewers, released last year, also help to de-correlate your main screen and other screens. Those could be workarounds for your need.
