People mask > Face Skin jawline refinement

When using People masking with Face Skin selected, it would be great to be able to soften the mask at the jawline only, or fade the mask into the neck area only. Currently, it's often jagged, too abrupt or inaccurate and requires manual refinement, defeating the ability to batch-process effectively. The problem is particularly noticeable when brightening faces.

Current workaround

Two current workarounds:

  1. Eraser-brushing individual images at each problem jawline.

  2. Use the Refine Mask slider, which causes the mask to bleed into other parts of the face such as the eyes, lips or hairline. The new Subtract feature using the People mask with those parts checked with further refinement and adjustments helps to counter the bleeding effect, but is an extra few steps.
