Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
I am a fan and a dedicated user of Capture One, and I want to offer some constructive feedback. I truly appreciate all the new features you are adding, especially in masking and retouching tools – they are powerful and much needed! However, I used to value C1 not just for its functionality, but also for its concise and intuitive interface, which made my workflow so fast and convenient.
Unfortunately, the interface is now becoming overloaded and somewhat illogical. I start to get lost having to switch between separate tabs and then submenus within those tabs just to perform a simple task.
My key request is this: please return to context-sensitive design. For example: I want to select a masking tool first, and only then see all of its additional functions. Or, if a mask has already been created, I want to select that masked area directly on the photo and be able to change the mask's functions via a quick context menu, for instance, with a right-click. Minimum steps, maximum direct interaction.
I urge you, please do not follow the path of the Adobe Lightroom interface design. While its functionality is good, its UX feels cumbersome and too drawn out to me. Preserve the elegance and efficiency of the workflow that have always distinguished Capture One. Thank you for listening to user feedback!
I would HATE this. Having functionality burried under action is horrible UX. If you can't see, you don't know it even exists. I have this exact problem with my CRM right now. Also, you can use keyboard shortcuts to very quickly move between your tabs and customize your tabs to show only what you want or need.
So I haven't experienced this confusion yet but I've always (since day 1, 6 years ago) felt that separate tabs was not the way to go, in any workflow. I've always simply made my own custom tab, and applied the tools in the order I like to work in, in that one tab. Now however, I do have the retouching tools on their own tab just because those are so specific. You don't find it helpful just having all the tools you use in your workflow, on one tab and going down that list in an order thats comfortable for you?
Exactly...
