Combine Mask: AppleScript Support

On most of my interior images, I use a script that creates a new layer to reduce the blue saturation of the room (due to sunlight or mismatched artificial lights), while not affecting areas that are intended to be blue. It does this by copying the mask from a Blue Accent layer, inverting it, and applying a Blue Reduction style.

I would also like to be able to subtract the mask of a Windows layer from the Blue Reduction layer, so that window views are not affected. This currently requires quite a few clicks.

It appears that the AppleScript interface has not been updated to accommodate the new Combine Mask features. For those of us who combine the same kinds of masks on a regular basis, this would be a very welcome addition (and should really be done anyway, for consistency).

Current workaround

Currently, one must manually do the following to subtract the mask of one layer from the mask of another layer:

  1. Click the Combined Masks pop-up menu.

  2. Click Subtract.

  3. Click Brush.

  4. Click Create Mask.

  5. Click the "..." menu in the upper-right of the tool panel.

  6. Click "Copy Mask From"

  7. Choose the name of the layer from which to copy the mask.

The first four steps can be reduced to one step by setting "Subtract Brush" as the default option, but then it becomes more complicated to access Intersect Luma Range (which I also use frequently).
