Drag and drop images

I cannot get scans of the same images to go together using grouping if they are at all different in exposure or edge crop. They are not even on the same screen in the album or cull grid view. I can't cull if I can't see them together.

Large archive scans need to be organized into the order of the stories to choose which images to use. They were scanned in batches on different dates, not in order of the events over the years. I need to enable decision making for output beyond having to add individual tokens, for which there wouldn't be enough combinations to get them in order to know if I've got everything ready to go.

Weddings and events--we need all of the images in one final album created in flow order to present, choose, and print according to what tells the story for the client. That cannot be done with tokens or subalbums, only by drag and drop and being able to scroll through the whole thing smoothly.

Current workaround

If I were to use color tags to get 2-6 images next to each other to compare and choose when grouping doesn't work, then I would have to sort for each subgroup to see only those. The other contextual images would not be visible.

Or--break thousands of images into dozens of sub-albums to try to sequence them and make a continuous story.

These workarounds do not help to visualize/show the flow, and narrow down to a certain number of images to print while seeing the result.
