I frequently photograph portraits where each subject has their own subfolder inside the Capture folder (e.g., capture/John-Doe, capture/Jane-Smith). My export naming structure is:
yyyy-mm-dd_project_CaptureSubfolder_counter
The problem is that Capture One continues the counter globally across all exported images, even when the capture subfolder changes. This results in inconsistent numbering and requires manual renaming or separate export recipes for each person.
An option to automatically reset the counter whenever the Capture Subfolder changes would make multi-subject sessions far more efficient. The last time this affected me was during a corporate headshot session with more than 20 individual subfolders — every export continued numbering from the previous subject, which slowed down the delivery workflow significantly.

All of these approaches are time-consuming and introduce opportunities for human error. A built-in automatic counter reset per subfolder would eliminate these manual steps entirely. |
