Place a 'Clone Variant' directly after the one being duplicated, rather than at the end position

I often want to duplicate an image so I can make adjustments and then quickly compare it to the variant that I'm most happy with.

The default behaviour when I clone a variant is to place it after the final variant, but this means I have have manually drag it back to the correct place (ie. after the variant that I've cloned).

    Have you tried to use a different order of the photos? I work with sorting by date and it works fine for me. Variant 2 directly after the original variant.
