AI mask retracing for copy/paste adjustments - DaVinci Resolve as inspiration

How amazing it would be if copied and applied adjustments across the selection of similar images would automatically re-trace masks for objects selected through AI masking! It shouldn't be perfect, but if mask at least could be moving together with object across the field of the photograph through the whole selection, and adapt the shape with some accuracy, it will help SO much! Skin retouching feature already does something like it.

would be cool to have this feature as a standalone function within "copy" as i believe it would be quite power-consuming and not always needed.

-Copy (all)

-Copy without (AI) masks/layers

-Copy with selected layers

-Copy and retrace

Current workaround
  1. create an image look with layers and ai masking, adjust all to perfection

  2. from layers with ai masks - erase mask itself, but keep adjustments of the layers

(as if adjustments exist, just not applied before mask is redrawn on these layers)

  1. copy all adjustments and layers

  2. apply all adjustments and layers

  3. on every adjusted AI layer of every selected image retrace the objects they are created for with AI masking, so the adjustments re-appear where they indented to be

  4. it takes forever.

    Hi Jana,

You are probably aware, but I'm making sure for ther users who might not be: the AI masks for Subject, Background and People are all automatically recalculated (retraced) on new images.

Pixel masks are not automatically retraced because they do not have context of what they are (say you select an apple, the software does not know it's an apple, it only knows about the pixels that were selected).
