Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
I was really excited to check out the new layers feature. It might not sound like a major change to most, but control over how layers operate when they are passed between images, or pasted over each other, is something that has a dramatic affect on my workflow.
Capture One is now able to recognize when a duplicate layer is present (by name, which makes for a really easy to use implementation). And you can chose to double up the layers, skip, or replace. I've been begging for something like this for years as (imo) it would really open up a lot of batch-editing sort of options. Unfortunately, there is no option to keep the mask and only apply the slider changes. I'm curious if anyone else would benefit from this, or if it's just me.
My use case is this. I'm a wedding & portrait photographer. Say I'm editing a set of ten similar images. I want them all to match. I edit the first one, looks great to me. Copy those adjustments to the next ten images. 2 and 3 are also looking great, I tweak the subject masks a little bit, and move on. I get to 4 and it's, for whatever reason, not quite hitting the same. I make a few tweaks to it, and I realize I like this new edit more than the first one. When I copy this edit back onto my first 3 images, I have to 1. rebuild the subject masks and then 2. redo all the tweaks I made to them. I do have the option of pasting the layers and then copying the masks over ... which is often what I end up doing, but if I'm going all the way back from image 8 it can be a bit tedious.
Being able to one-click sync edits, with basically no load time, would be SO helpful. This new feature, for me, was almost there, but just missed the mark a tiny bit. Which means it doesn't help at all. Anyways, if you read all that and feel the same way, I'd love to hear it. Or if this feature as-is is helpful to you, also super curious about how.

Current workaround
Manually re-sync masks or rebuild them entirely. Can be very time consuming on a larger set of images. |
This would really be a very useful addition to the new masking features!
I also run into this situation every now and then.
