The rework of the “Layers & Masks” may have added more flexibility to the application of layers, but it has also disrupted previous workflows that depended on for example Luma Range from before the rework.
Quallity of life improvements could be:
To make “Modify Luma Range...” automatically apply an “Intersect Luma Range” to a selected mask, if no luma range is applied.
If a Luma Range or multiple are already applied to a mask, and the overarching mask is selected (since it will be when using the new way of applying Luma Ranges), “Modify Luma Range...” will work on the topmost Luma Range applied to that mask, to make quick readjustments.
These changes will make the Luma Range tool be backwards compatible with workflows and keyboard shortcuts in versions before the rework of “Layers & Masks”, while keeping the flexibility in the newer version.
