Dear Developers,
I really enjoy using your software — it’s a powerful and thoughtfully designed tool for professional photo editing. I have a couple of ideas that I’d like to share, which could make the Speed Edit workflow even faster and more intuitive.
**1. Center-based zoom crop via Speed Edit**
It would be great to have a Speed Edit modifier that enables center-based cropping using mouse movement or the scroll wheel.
Proposed behavior:
* While holding a dedicated modifier key, moving the mouse left/right or using the scroll wheel scales the crop proportionally from the center (digital zoom in/out).
* The crop remains centered and resizes symmetrically, automatically trimming excess edges.
* This would allow very fast rough cropping without grabbing crop handles or corners.
**2. Speed Edit rotation control**
Another useful addition would be a Speed Edit modifier for quick image rotation.
Proposed behavior:
* While holding a second modifier key, horizontal mouse movement or scroll wheel input rotates the image.
* This enables instant horizon leveling without switching tools or adjusting sliders.
**3. Speed Edit perspective correction (vertical and horizontal)**
It would also be extremely helpful to add Speed Edit control for vertical and horizontal perspective correction.
Proposed behavior:
* Dedicated modifier keys allow quick adjustment of vertical and horizontal perspective via mouse movement or scroll wheel.
* This enables instant architectural and geometric corrections without switching panels or tools.
* The adjustment should feel as direct and responsive as existing Speed Edit parameters.
**4. Extended manual distortion control without profile dependency**
In the Lens Correction panel, it would be very useful to have a distortion control that works across a wide adjustment range without requiring selection of the generic pincushion/barrel distortion profile.
Proposed behavior:
* A standalone distortion slider with an extended range, available independently of lens profile presets.
* The ability to apply strong manual distortion corrections quickly and intuitively.
* Full compatibility with Speed Edit for fast access during editing.
**Workflow benefit**
With these additions, cropping and geometric corrections become near-instant gesture-based operations:
* Scale the crop from the center,
* rotate if needed,
* correct perspective and distortion,
* and finally fine-tune the composition by dragging the frame to reposition it.
This approach removes the need to repeatedly switch tools and panels and would significantly speed up high-volume editing workflows.
Thank you for your time and for continuing to improve such an excellent piece of software.
Best regards

Current workaround
Current workaround workflow: For rotation and horizon leveling, I use keyboard shortcuts: Alt+A / Alt+D for image rotation and Shift+A / Shift+D for fine horizon correction. This allows reasonably fast manual alignment without switching tools. For center-based zoom cropping, I rely on crop presets mapped to number keys. Keys 1–5 apply presets for horizontal images, and Shift+1 through Shift+5 apply presets for vertical images. Each preset represents an incremental center crop, where 1 corresponds to roughly a 10% crop and 5 corresponds to roughly a 50% crop. This simulates step-based center zoom but lacks the fluid, continuous control that an integrated Speed Edit solution would provide |
