Live 2 Unlimited – No Limit (to what's missing in folder sharing)

Capture One Live is marketed as "Live Unlimited" – yet what you can
actually share is severely limited: only individual albums. No folders,
no projects, no groups. Just albums. One at a time.

This limitation has existed since day one. Capture One Live launched
in December 2021 – explicitly as a beta. Four years later, paying
customers are still working around the same fundamental limitation.

Real-world use case: A fashion photographer organizes a shoot by outfit
and location. The remote client needs to navigate this structure and
rate images per outfit. With Live Unlimited, this is simply not possible
without manually creating and sharing one album per outfit.

Folder sharing with hierarchy exists – but only in Capture One Studio,
at nearly double the price. For a feature that is fundamental to any
structured remote review workflow, locking it behind a higher tier while
calling the lower tier "Unlimited" feels misleading at best.

The name promises unlimited. The feature delivers the opposite.

Current workaround

Current workarounds (none of them ideal):

  1. Custom AppleScript to export the collection hierarchy as folders
on disk, then share via Dropbox. Dropbox supports comments per image
but no star ratings or color tags.
    GitHub: https://github.com/phrank303/applescript-quick-actions

  2. Manually creating one album per folder in Capture One and sharing
each separately – tedious and not scalable for shoots with many looks.

The fact that a free Dropbox account gets closer to the needed workflow
than a paid "Live Unlimited" subscription says it all.

Hi Phrank, I think you have missed something - there are no features of Live that are exclusive to Capture One Studio. What you have described can be done in the All-in-One version of Capture One or through the Live Unlimited add-on. There are no limits to how many images or folders you can share, hence the name.

The only difference that the Studio plan offers is that sessions last 60 days instead of 30.
