AI assisted culling and face recognition

Hi team,

I’d like to suggest adding AI-assisted culling with advanced subject-based filtering capabilities, expanding on what Lightroom currently offers.

For example, it would be extremely helpful to:

• Start with accurate face recognition, allowing me to tag specific individuals (e.g., bride and groom) in a reference image.

• Automatically detect and match those tagged individuals across the entire shoot.

• Optionally apply keywords to identified people, especially useful when multiple participants are tagged.

• Analyze only the selected subjects (not the entire frame) for key quality criteria such as:

  • Sharp focus

  • Eyes open

  • No misfires or unusable frames

In practical terms, if I have a large group photo but I’m only concerned about the bride and groom, the system should evaluate focus and eye status specifically for them, rather than for every person in the image.

This type of subject-prioritized, AI-driven culling would significantly speed up workflow for event and wedding photographers while maintaining precise control over selection criteria.
