Negative conversion in a/the RAW converter? There are plenty of urgent improvements!

What has Negative conversion to do with a/the RAW converter?

I am working with Capture One for more than 20 years now and the advantage of this software was that it was intelligent and ahead of other RAW converters.

Negative conversion may a marketing trick but has nothing to do with RAW conversion IMHO!

There is plenty of space for improving the software bit it may take more ressources and provide less marketing success since people do not know what image quality is about anymore!

Just to give you some ideas:

• HDR tool is completely basic and not where it should be compared to others: ghost detection and removal is bad

• Panorama functionality is very basic. No option for adjusting the horizon. Masks for wanted/unwanted objects – and I am asking for it for years now: pls fix the complete button in the dialog (should react on Return key).

• Removing unwanted objects is unusable - just for this purpose, you need to switch to Photoshop!

• Noise removal has not been optimised in the last 10 years - same for optimised sharpening

• Demosaicing has about the same age. Pls check DxO PhotoLab to see what is possible

• Catalogs are pretty basic. Do not think about importing more than 30'000 images, otherwise you PC will crash. LR is handling several millions of images

Let's make Capture One great again ;)
