Hi Capture One team,
In Face Retouch → Skin, smoothing often reduces or removes freckles even at low settings. In editorial portraiture, freckles are a defining feature and should be preserved.
Request:
Add a Protect Freckles option (checkbox/slider) so Skin smoothing avoids flattening freckles and other permanent texture details.
Optional: Restore / Enhance existing freckles slider to gently bring back freckles’ visibility/contrast after smoothing — not to create new freckles, only enhance freckles already present — without affecting pores or producing artifacts.

Hi Juan Pablo, thanks for the suggestion.
We tried doing that when building the feature, and found out that today's technology wasn't reliable enough to create a freckle protection that matches our quality expectations.
As a workaround, we have create the blemish protection brush, which allows you to define which areas should not be affected by the blemish removal tool. It's manual, so definitely more time consuming than anyone would like, but it's also much more precise than an AI could be at this stage.
