Frame Averaging

I loved the frame averaging function in the IQ4-150, but sold the system about a year ago. I can do frame averaging via Photoshop, but then I lose all of C1's editing options. If I could do the frame averaging inside of C1, like we can do with stitching and bracketing, I think it would be a very cool feature to add.

The frame averaging would have to do the auto-align like the bracketing. And hopefully the frame averaging tool would do a better job blending vs the current exposure bracketing (which has trouble with skies, clouds, opaque surfaces, etc.).

Thank you

I agree that this would be a much appreciated feature for us landscape photographers!

Frame averaging (in post) works with any digital camera.  The limitation on the capture side is that the series of exposures have to be tripod based.  Generally, frame averaging is used for long exposures.  It's a different approach vs a ND filter.  Frame averaging can also have upsides for noise cancellation and expanded dynamic range.

It's probably best to use electronic shutter to avoid the risk of shutter shock, though, electronic shutter on different cameras has various limitations on exposure times, light flickering, raw file bit depth, etc.  Those capture limitations vary from camera brand & model.

Is this a feature nicely matching with A9III?
