LED flicker reduction

When shooting in LED-lit environments such as tv-studios or stage performances, the LED lights used nowadays give a noticeable horizontal/vertical flicker when shooting on speeds higher than around 1/200 (but sometimes even lower than that). Given that during certain events, it is more important to freeze the motion rather than adapt to the light, which in itself presents the photographer/retoucher with a terrible picture and a dilemma of having to choose between a steady light but blurry subject or a freezed motion but a terrible post-production situation.
