Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
Hello Capture One team,
I wanted to submit this suggestion as a Capture One user working in product and studio photography.
I currently work with a Canon EOS R5 and a Fujifilm GFX100S, both connected to Capture One for tethering and Live View. I recently came across a video/demo of the Capture Sequencer workflow, where you can define the near and far focus points and let the system automatically calculate and capture the full focus stacking sequence.
I honestly think this is an excellent and extremely useful tool for product, tabletop, macro, and studio workflows. That’s exactly why it was disappointing to find out that this feature is not available for cameras like the Canon EOS R5 or the Fujifilm GFX100S.
At the moment, with these cameras, the workflow ends up being to run focus bracketing from the camera itself, import the sequence into Capture One, and then send it to Helicon Focus or another solution for the actual stack. While this works, it would be far more powerful, efficient, and elegant to be able to run that sequence directly from Capture One, especially when working tethered in a studio environment.
Having a Capture Sequencer / automated focus sequence capture feature for Canon and Fujifilm systems would, in my opinion, be a very valuable improvement for product, food, still life, macro, and e-commerce photographers who rely on focus stacking as a regular part of their workflow.
I would love for the team to consider this as a future priority in Capture One’s development. I genuinely believe it would be an important tool and very well received by a large number of professional users working outside the Phase One ecosystem.
Thank you very much for taking it into consideration.
Best regards,
