Centre to face or eye not working properly

The centre to face or eye not working properly. It frequently focuses on the 'unfocused' face which is bizarre to say the least. This is when there is a focused or more focused face in the centre of the frame. Surely there should be a centre bias and it'd be more likely to zoom in on the face you want to check.

Then randomly it'll find a face in the corner to check, again instead of the most likely location in the centre. And yes I know I can click on the magnifying glass and click the centre face but doesn't the defeat the purpose of this tool. It does say centre to face or eye afterall.
