When working with complex workspaces and multiple tools within a Tool Tab (both in pinned and scrollable areas), managing screen real estate becomes tedious. Currently, users must manually collapse each tool one by one, as there is no native global command or shortcut to collapse all open tools instantly.
Important Distinction from "Solo Mode" (Auto-collapse): While the existing "Solo Mode" enforces a strict "one tool open at a time" rule, it does not fulfill this need. Photographers often need to expand and view multiple specific tools simultaneously during their editing workflow. Once that specific task is completed, they need a quick way to clean up and reset their workspace by closing everything at once. Solo Mode is too restrictive for this use case; what is missing is a manual, on-demand action to trigger a global collapse.
Proposed Solutions:
Modifier Shortcut (Industry Standard): Allow an Alt+Click (Windows) or Option+Click (macOS) on any tool's disclosure triangle to instantly collapse (or expand) all tools within the active Tool Tab.
Global Command: Add a "Collapse All Tools in Tab" command in the Keyboard Shortcut manager to allow users to map a dedicated key.
UI Button: Add a discrete "Collapse All" option in the Tool Tab's context menu (right-click) or via the three-dots (...) menu.
Benefit: This implementation would significantly improve workspace ergonomics, allowing users to freely expand multiple tools when needed and collapse them all in a single action, bringing Capture One in line with standard UI behaviors found in other professional creative software.
