Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
Under some circumstances C1 considers images as non-processable and flags them as read-only. I randomly face this issue when shooting tethered with a 100 MP camera and keep session and images on a network drive. Most images work fine, but 1 to 5% some race condition seems to stop C1 from accepting the image. It is flagged as read-only, although all preview and metadata files are generated correctly. Images of this type can be imported into other sessions without problem, but will remain read-only in the current session.
Please add a feature to have C1 recheck files which have been flagged as "read-only". If the issue cannot be fixed, e.g. because the file was created by a not-supported camera, or due to some data corruption, tell the user. If it can be fixed, because all image data are OK, update the session to treat the image as editable. (Or fix the race-condition).

Current workaround
If the issue happens, I must import the images to another session. This works, but I'm loosing any changes already applied during shooting. To fix this, I have to move the imported image back to the session where the read-only copy already resides, delete the read-only copy and apply changes from another image, if possible. To avoid the issue, the session must be kept local; the images can be kept on the network drive. After completing work, the session must be copied to the network. |
