I would like to request an improvement to the People Masking feature in Capture One.
When an image contains multiple people, please allow Capture One to automatically detect and create separate masks for each individual person.
For example, in a wedding photo with a bride and groom, I need to create a separate mask for the bride's face and skin and another separate mask for the groom's face and skin. This would allow me to adjust and color grade each person's skin tone individually.
The bride and groom may have different skin tones or lighting, so they often require different color grading, exposure, and skin-tone adjustments. Having separate person masks would make individual skin-tone correction much faster and easier, especially when editing a large number of wedding photos.
This feature would greatly improve the workflow for wedding and portrait photographers.

Current workaround
Current workflow and limitation: Currently, when editing group photos, I have to use the Magic Select tool to manually select each person and create separate masks. After that, I need to manually remove areas such as the eyes, eyebrows, and mouth to create a proper skin mask. However, I cannot separately remove the teeth from this manually created mask. This makes the process more difficult and time-consuming, especially when editing many wedding photos. Having automatic, separate masks for each individual person—including separate face and skin masks—would make individual color grading and skin-tone adjustments much faster and easier. |
