Show Current Image Position in Viewer

In the Viewer, Capture One currently displays the total number of images at the top, for example:

1 / 118

However, this indicator does not appear to update when navigating through the images. For example, if I move to the 10th or 25th image, it still shows:

1 / 118

It would be much more useful if this displayed the current image position and total number of images, updating as you navigate:

  • 1 / 118

  • 10 / 118

  • 25 / 118

  • 117 / 118

This would make it immediately clear which image I am currently working on and how many images remain.

Why this would be useful

When working through a large selection of images, it is helpful to know your progress and position within the set. At the moment, there is no obvious indication of this.

Suggested improvement

Make the existing “X / Total” indicator dynamic so that X represents the currently viewed/selected image's position within the current image set.

For example:

25 / 118

This could also update dynamically when using the arrow keys, scrolling, or navigating between images.

A small change like this would make navigating and keeping track of progress through a large number of images much easier.

Current workaround

As a workaround, I currently use color tags (e.g. green) or star ratings to mark images that I have finished processing. However, this is really being used as a workaround for something that could potentially be communicated directly by the Viewer.
