Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
Printing for a matted frame currently takes manual maths and a second application. I want to tell the Print module three things: the final trimmed paper size (e.g. 11×17"), the mat window size (e.g. 8×12"), and how much the mat should overlap the image (e.g. 1/8" per side). Capture One would then size and centre the image automatically, and print crop marks at the trim line outside the image. The crop mark offset should be set per side, because the border is rarely equal on all four sides. An optional faint guide line showing the window edge would also help when checking alignment.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
This week. I was printing an 8×12 window image on A3+ paper, trimmed to 11×17 for a matted frame.

Current workaround
I calculate margins by hand, export a TIFF, and print from Canon Professional Print & Layout because Capture One has no crop marks. Even there, the crop mark offset is a single value for all sides, so I still have to measure two of the cuts by hand. |
