Currently AI masks live outside any batch editing as doing so just carries the other layer and adds it to the next image. So selecting multiple images and then batching just stacks irrelevant layer masks. So now I choose either a a fast batch edit flow or AI masks. Not a dev, but I imagine something that assumes layers with the same name are treated as comparable would be the trick. Would be amazing to dial in the background and subject and be able to batch that while keeping each unique images corresponding, already calculated mask shape.

You can add Subject AI Masking and Background AI Masking layers to a layer style and then apply that style to other images. When the style is applied these layers will dynamically perform the corresponding Subject and Background AI masking. If the subject or background differs in each of the applied images it dynamically finds them. I've tested this and it is truly amazing.
