Allow selection of two or more Recent Imports in the Browser window.

What problem do you see this solving?

Many days I perform several imports for the same project.

I'd like to be able to view all the images from that day, or all the images from two or three imports. But I can't.

It would be great to be able to select two or three from the list of Recent Imports in the Browser window and view all those images in a single window.

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

I'm affected by this issue at least a couple times a week, sometimes several times a day.

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?

The only workaround I can use is to select All Images, and with 200,000 images in my catalog, it takes quite a while and it all runs really slowly.

    Agreed!

I'm not familiar enough with the exact terms for my import process. I simply call up C1's import dialog,* which by default remembers to "Copy into Catalog,"  into Collection "Recent Imports Only." From there, I manage the catalog mainly through the Recent Imports folder in the Library tab.

If I have specific projects, I create smart User Collections based on keywords. In fact keywording is my main organizing principle (which is one reason a slow and awkward search interface is frustrating to me).

    ----

*I'm importing CF Express Type B cards from my camera, but C1 support tells me that C1 won't automatically recognize the camera card and open the Import dialog with CFExpress cards, nor will C1 automatically eject the card after import, though I've set the preferences to do both.

Comparing Aperture fucntionalities against the ones of Capture One usually will not show Capture One as a winner. I'm not aware of any DAM function really better than in old AA.

    How I try to workaround:

On top of my "user-collections" is a group containing various smart albums. It's cumbersome to create them, not being able to duplicate one and change the search parameters, is another limit, it just adds to the list of many shortcomings, but better than nothing. Some are searching for certain keywords, others for lenses or dates.

But generally I always import into a new album. And since you say 368866535958, you import into a certain project (which you can't as only albums are allowed to import pictures into), I guess you're already creating a new album? So I allow myself to put a link to my suggestion to be able to create or select an album in the import window. Another thing Aperture's devs thought of.

More flexibility would always be better!

What I meant is any mix of smart albums or albums, or several system folders, or several (or all) recent imports.

Agreed! Select any or all that are included in the list of recent imports.

I would even expand this feature to the possibility to select muliple arbitrary collections, or folders, and then show their images in the thumbnail browser. This would cover more use cases, not only the very specific use case you have in mind, increasing the value and hence the likelihood to be implemented (unless the effort would increase too).

Yep, definitely doesn't hurt to ask.

It would so much simpler to just select two or three Recents. That's how Aperture did it and I'm afraid I was spoiled by that.

I use smart albums for what you're asking for - but maybe I'm not understanding the ask. It would be nice - and maybe there is such a feature but haven't found it - to have a rolling N-days filter. That way I don't have to keep specifying the date.
