Custom Shortcuts "Apply Style to New Layer"

What problem do you see this solving?

When having a custom shortcut set for applying a style, the style is applied to the background.

Having the option "Apply Style to a New Layer" in the custom shortcuts under Edit Keyboard Shortcuts would be very handy.

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

I use this a custom style on a daily basis.

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?

I now first apply the style and then use "Move Background Adjustments to New Layer". I then still need to rename the layer to a preferred naming. This isn't needed when applying a style to a new layer via the Style tool tab.

    Hi Alexander

That totally slipped my mind and solved the problem entirely for me!

    Thank you!

    Hi Jan,

Thanks for the post! With the new possibility to save Layers in Styles, you can make a version of your Style that puts it on a Layer by default. This way you can even set a predefined opacity in case you want to have the possibility to both decrease and increase the impact.

While this is not exactly what you're asking and does require an extra shortcut (one for the regular Style and one for the layered one) it does somewhat solve the task. I just want to be sure you are aware of this possibility! :)
