Improve purple / blue / green lateral fringing correction and add more customisable settings

What problem do you see this solving?

I have found that it isn't always possible to remove purple fringing in Capture One with satisfactory results. This fringing can be common in corners with high contrast edges. For example, I am currently using a GF100-200mm lens which despite it's overall sharpness can exhibit quite a bit of colour fringing towards the corners which looks like a blue haze at edges which can not be removed. I have not been able to correct it at all in Capture One leading me to believe the lens performance was so poor I have been tempted to stop using the lens all together. I have had similar experiences with other lenses. Other raw converters have done a better job correcting the fringing. I recently tried DXO Photolab and was able to completely remove the aberrations from this lens, screen shot attached for comparison. This made me realise that Capture One has a long way to go in this area. Both Lightroom and DXO have more settings and better ability to correct fringing. (Note: Normal chromatic aberration correction in Capture One has always worked very well, and the 'analyse' feature is very good). DXO has options for intensity and size for lateral chromatic aberrations which get the job done. Capture One only has a purple fringing slider which does not do the job done and leaves visible colour fringing.

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

When using specific lenses with high contrast details in the images.

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?

My workaround will now be to use DXO Photolab when processing images from this lens with high contrast edges. This is a bit ridiculous since Capture One is a more advanced tool overall and should be more than capable of removing the aberrations.

    More examples:

Capture One with Chromatic aberration and purple fringing turned on:

Result does not remove all fringing, blue and yellow can be seen on side of white wall.

Example 2: DXO with Chromatic aberration and purple fringing turned on:  Obvious colour fringing has been removed. No obvious side effects in this case.

Looking closer at DXO removal of the purple fringing on other examples, I can see occasional unwanted side effects to other colours when the fringing is removed (as can also happen in LR).

Didn't have space in post to fit Capture One comparison of this image so I'll explain it.  Capture One was able to remove most of the chromatic aberration but left some purple fringing behind.  On the positive side it did not have unwanted side effects of discolouring the fine red branches.

    1. DXO no chromatic aberration correction

    2. DXO with full chromatic aberration correction (no fringing correction): Reds in fine branches also removed as unwanted side effect.
