Edit Selected Lags

What problem do you see this solving?

Toggling Edit Selected via keyboard shortcut or clicking the UI has always suffered from lag. It is super annoying at the best of times. At the worst of times I have had colour and star ratings not be assigned as intended; or even had multiple images moved to the trash instead of only the primary selected image.

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

Every single time I use capture one since 2017. It doesn't matter how new or powerful the system is - it is happens on Windows and Mac. I keep waiting for it to get fixed in an update but this lag persists.

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?

I always ensure that "Edit Selected" is visible in the toolbar. The workaround is to wait at least 1 second after the "Edit Selected" UI element switches colours. Please note the colour change is not a reliable indicator of its status. For example there have been countless occassions where I have toggled "edit selected" off and waited for the icon in the toolbar to go from orange to grey; once I see it is grey I then proceed to make whatever operation I was about to do (colour rating, stars, move, delete, whatever). Only to find that it applies to all images selected instead of only the primary image.
