Toggle for Latest Image or free look in image capture

After my last shoot and working with an active art director we came to the realization it would be good to have a toggle button by the image feed that activates the process of showing the last image taken always while shooting or toggling off and being able to freely browse the taken images with out it snapping back to the latest frame taken.

Which device are you using?

Let us know whether you are using the mobile application on an iPad or iPhone, and which specific device you you are using, e.g. iPhone 14 Pro

iPad Pro 6th edition with USB-C

What problem do you see this solving?

Describe the problem or issue you are having in Capture One mobile.

Think about what it is that you're trying to achieve, and the reason why you are trying to do it.

Good for Art Directors who are actively viewing and want to look at selects while the shoot continues.

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

If your feedback is more general, simply let us know how much your workflow is affected.

All 10 days of the latest shoot I did.

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals?

This is so we have a greater understanding of how your workflow is affected, and how we can improve the existing tools and functionality.

Right now the workaround was the Art Director fighting against the ever expanding stream of images and trying to find his way back to where he left off.

Wow! that's impressive and thanks for sharing :) Yes, indeed both of you would need internet in that case. As for battery consumption, we tested and we haven't come up with any limits or thresholds that could disrupt the photoshoot. but of course things might differ depending the hardware, usage and weather conditions.

Sounds like a good tool but might be a bit cumbersome when working live or drain more power, also it needs wifi I am guessing? The last job saw me in the deserts of Dubai and the rural infrastructure of Johannesburg. Having the Art Director running after me with the camera tethered was the best way to work but he was constantly swiping against the current pf photos coming it which in turn also used more processing power which made the ipad hot and drain battery quicker i am guessing.

luckily I run USB-C splitters with extra power banks etc to keep us really nimble in the field.

Hello again, yes can use it both on iPhone and iPad: Capture One Live (for iPad) – Capture One. The purpose of Live is just this: to allow your team or client review the photos, comment on them or add stars/color tags, either remotely or even onsite. You just need to start the session from your iPad or iPhone and send them the link and they can open it on their device and go through the photos at their own pace, during and after the photoshoot. Take a look and please let me know what you think :)

Thanks! Would be an awesome addition.

I haven't tried Capture One Live, not sure if that would remedy the issue, is that on the ipad as well? what is the difference?

    Thanks!

Hello, this is a very good point. Thanks for sharing. We will let you know once we have an update for this. Have you ever tried Capture One Live when you shoot tethered? would that work for now?
