Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
I use a tiny subset of the options in the metadata "Tool" (in my case "title", "description", "dimentions", "lens" and a handful of others. currently I need to do a lot of scrolling to find what I need, and I know I will very rarely touch the others.
Could a new "tool" be created called "filtered metadata" where I can choose which fields get shown?
I'd still like to be able to use the full metadata tools as well elsewhere.

Current workaround
lots of scrolling. I also train students in our workflows, and regularely end up with metadata in the wrong fields because of this. |
In my view all (or most) XMP tags should be available in principle. Then users can build profiles with the tags they need and want displayed. In most cases a short list.
For me the reference are the tags in exiftool documentation as far as they are relevant for photography. To avoid confusion, fully qualified tag names should be used, as they are in the xmp file, with descriptions for user interface display. e.g. Iptc4xmpCore:IntellectualGenre. Genre
I am in particular need of the Darwin Core tags and I would use Iptc4xmpExt:PersonInImage rather than GettyImagesGIFT:Personality. I also would need Iptc4xmpExt:Event.
And other people would need different tags, so this should be customizable.
OMG YES!!! 🔥 I was about to suggest the same. Same metadata needs, just a few fields and would like to choose which ones, on a resizable window that can be docked to the tools area 👌
A meta data set up like Adobe Bridge would be useful. A lot more fields that can be customised.
