Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
As a photographer who regularly uses Capture One's grain feature, I'd like to propose an enhancement to the existing grain tool. While the current monochromatic grain options work well, adding colored grain capability would significantly expand creative possibilities and better emulate authentic film characteristics.
The implementation could integrate with the current grain panel by adding color distribution controls to the existing grain settings. This feature would enable photographers to create more authentic film-like effects directly within Capture One, reducing the need to use multiple applications for achieving these distinctive looks.
This enhancement offers photographers greater creative flexibility while remaining true to Capture One's approach to powerful editing tools.
Current workaround
Currently the only way I know how to do this is in photoshop, I add colored noise to a gray layer, and then blur it a little bit, and set it to overlay. There are also some third-party plugins like DXO film pack that do this pretty well, but who enjoys using those solutions?? I leaving capture one for anything realistically. |
