Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
As HDR and 32-bit still image processing becomes more popular, Capture One needs the ability to export 32-bit compatible files and/or allow roundtripping 32-bit variants to Photoshop and other 32-bit capable editors. Otherwise, ideally, Capture One should adopt 32-bit processing, so one can do their full edit and export from within Capture One. Instagram now supports hdr jpegs with gain maps, and soon safari will as well. Chrome, Threads and Facebook are next. With most smartphones, tablets, and TVs capable of displaying HDR content, the time is now. If you bring it in-house, please figure out a way to support gain maps, very important.
Current workaround
Currently, I am exporting 16-bit tiff files from Capture One and creating pseudo HDR images using Web Sharp Pro. It works well, but requires a photoshop subscription and doesn’t give you as much control of HDR images as you would have inside of a RAW processor. |
