Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
I have a big catalogue with 50.000 images. When I want to search for certain keywords in the database the search already starts when I am still typing in the search term. As the search begins the "beach ball" appears (MacOS) and I cannot even enter the final letters of my search term. Similar problem in the Extended Search window: even if I only click one of the checkboxes of the search criteria, the software starts working and the Beach Ball appears! I search a lot in my database and this is very annoying. Why isn't it possible to configure the search mask first completely (also in the Extended Seach) and, once finished press a START button to beginn the search. For me this is the most annoying thing in Capture One because I need to search frequently.

Current workaround
Workaround: I have a lot of waiting time until the beach ball disappears and I can finalize my search input! (Mac Powerbook M1) |
There's already a request for an option to turn off 'search as you type' here: https://captureone.ideas.aha.io/ideas/FR-I-245
One workaround is to write the search term elsewhere, copy it and then paste it into the search field.
A fast search option without unresponsiveness would be even more useful, but this would require a more efficient handling of large catalogues – which there's a request for here: https://captureone.ideas.aha.io/ideas/FR-I-964
