I am a Phase One IQ4 150 user. As you should know, the resolution is amazing; however, cleaning dust is a nightmare. I would be thankful if dust removal is improved.

Current workaround
Look at the dust and scratches. I could spend a lot of time cleaning this. I did it with a focus stack tool, and when I got the result, some dust points were repeated in sequence due to the sum of the frames. |
I agree. The dust removal tool needs improvement.
A quick summary of issues.
* It has no option to make dust, spots, blemishes, etc., easier to see, which means that manual removal takes just as long as it would without this tool.
* It often selects areas that overlap with objects (buildings, trees, etc.) where there are no spots that need to be removed; instead it adds unwanted artifacts, e.g. lighter patches, so you have to manually remove the corrections.
* It often removes something that isn't unwanted, e.g. tie holes in concrete walls or parts of the sky that it mistakes for dust spots. And often you have to delete the correction in order to check if the correction is necessary.
* Many dust spots and blemishes as well as other things you may want to remove, such as insects or birds that are far away and visible only as blurry patches, aren't removed, so you always need to pan around the image at 100 % zoom anyway to make sure all such things have been removed. * Often you have to look closely to spot all the corrections that have been made as the circles that mark corrections aren't always easy to see, depending on their size and the background.
An option to make dust, spots, etc., easier to see would save a lot more time than an automatic dust/spot removal tool, as you will always have to check every part of an image anyway, which takes just as long with the automatic dust removal tool as without it. And if you use the automatic dust removal tool, not only will you have to check the image manually, you'll also have to check the corrections to ensure that it hasn't removed something that wasn't unwanted or introduced unwanted artifacts.
