option to not use any default curve (BASE CHARACTERISTIC)

What problem do you see this solving?

"When I go to the BASE CHARACTERISTIC tool, I see that the CURVE option forces me to choose from the 5 options it offers, and many times, this curve doesn't work for certain results I need.

Please enable the option to not use any default curve. I have compared it with Adobe Camera Raw, and it reads the raw file without any default adjustments.

Capture One defaults to focus, luminance, and a default curve, which doesn't allow me to view the original raw file without any adjustments."

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

"I have clients who request no adjustments to the original raw file and want retouching done in Photoshop. With Capture One, this is not possible because its default settings, such as the curve in the Base Characteristics, alter the original."

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?

"I use Camera Raw, it doesn't affect the original with default adjustments."

All raw processors, Adobe’s included, apply what amounts to an ICC profile (color profile), white balance and some sort of tone curve. Raw images without any white balance, tone curve and so forth would not look good to most people. It may be that you prefer ACR’s tweaks, but they are there. If you prefer a more neutral look you can just use linear response as your default profile.
