Color Editing in Food Photography

What problem do you see this solving?

Oftentimes when I’m editing food photos (which is 85% of my work), I’m having a problem getting the color of food items right, that are within the yellow-orange-brown spectrum (speaking of pastries, fruits like pineapples, etc.) Capture One adds a quite dominant green tint to this color spectrum and it’s oftentimes impossible for me to alter these colors in a way that looks natural. No matter if I push the hue slider of the basic color panel to the left (to get the green out and the original orange tone in) or take the color picker within the advanced color editor panel, the end result still doesn’t look like the original product. Oftentimes even more like an artificial color, which is not very appetizing (when pushing sliders to the left, the food gets this peachy-plastic-look). So…there’s really not much of a range for me to fix this problem. As oftentimes food items are within this specific color spectrum, it’s really frustrating that it’s not possible to display everything the way it actually looks.

Within Lightroom I never had that kind of problem and even if so, I had the opportunity to play around with the Calibration Panel to achieve exactly the colors I was after.

Btw: my monitor gets calibrated on a regular basis and I'm no newbie when it comes to editing.

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

All the time, unfortunately.

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?

Not at the moment. Still need to figure out, if Photoshop could help me out here and could offer me a better solution to alter these colors in the right way.
